Manager, Commercial Operations (105621)

Working Model: Hybrid (3 days a week in office)

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for a Manager, Commercial Operations to lead the Commercial Operations Team to develop and execute incentive programs/market letters to drive the appropriate grower and channel behavior as defined by the Crop Teams and Commercial Leadership. In this role, you will support the financial and operational forecasting process to anticipate and identify gaps and work with the cross functional team to address any potential gaps.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Coach, mentor, develop and lead two Commercial Operations Specialists focused on channel and grower program strategy and execution, financial budget, accrual management and S&OP process.
  • Establish and implement proposed framework for annual channel and grower programs in alignment with the overall business strategy and fit within profitability targets, ensuring the framework is aligned with marketing strategy and supported and endorsed by Strategic Account Management, Sales and Marketing Leadership.
  • Work cross functionally with Finance to manage financial exposure of program incentives against accruals from budget, forecast, and actuals.
  • Lead the Commercial Operations team to support the Canadian business in steering the Canadian S&OP process to meet monthly sales goals and targets.
  • Lead customer roadmap initiative with key customers in addition to financial modelling exercises to evaluate sales trajectories and financial exposures under different business scenarios.
  • Model incentives and programs to determine the impact to sales and financial exposures while supporting Marketing and Leadership Team with analyses including pricing, ROI, NPV, etc.
  • Facilitate and participate in the RetailConnect retail additions process to build and maintain a strong network of partners.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Marketing or Business. MBA would be an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of career experience, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, ideally in the agriculture industry.
  • Experience engaging with grower and retail customers (3 years or more) would be an asset.
  • Financial experience working with financial metrics and analysis.
  • Experience in people management and ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster innovation, embrace and implement change, while working with multiple stakeholders and influencing across an organization.
  • Experience interacting and working closely with Sales/Marketing personnel and customers under a range of situations, and with senior leadership (i.e., presentations, business plan development, influencing).
  • Sound understanding of Marketing, Sales, and Finance principles.
  • Understanding of distribution channel needs within the agriculture industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral & written) and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications.
