Working Model: Hybrid (2 days in office)

Within the Group Data Office as part of BASF’s Data & AI Powerhouse, we drive BASF’s overall Data Management and contribute to the convenient, efficient, and compliant data usage within BASF. We deliver services all around Data Product creation, Data Strategy, Data & AI Governance and Projects. Providing data as Data Products and organizing data in Domains enables colleagues across the organization to create value.

 

We are seeking a Data Product Owner Incubator to join our team. In this role you will leverage cutting-edge and proven technologies to reshape the way we execute business processes and innovation. Formula for Success: You Will…

 

  • Create data products for the BASF group that are of use for business stakeholders.
  • Understand the business user needs and hands-on combine the right data to fulfil the need for a data product, taking into account the required consumption method, frequency etc.
  • Help business stakeholders share, distribute, and consume data in a structured, governed, and harmonious way.
  • Act as role model and train further Data Product Owners on their role and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Domain Owners and Data Owners to ensure consistent, correct and fast Data Product creation.
  • Play a crucial role in improving our concepts of Data Product execution and the infrastructure development of the Data Ecosystem by providing feedback and suggesting new options.
  • Quickly adopt and promote new technologies.

 

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, with minimal 5 years of professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of data transformation processes and the ability to manage data quality.
  • Proficiency in programming for data extraction, metadata management, and ideally API creation.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices for ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business user needs, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and manage their expectations effectively.
  • Result-oriented working style.
