As a Product Regulations Specialist III, you create chemistry by…

 

  • Ensuring BASF’s license to sell through new chemical registrations and compliance assurance.
  • Interacting internally with regional and global business management, product management, technical management, legal, and externally with government agencies, trade associations and customers. These activities have a high technical complexity with a high impact for BASF.
  • Leveraging your product regulatory and/or technical experience to develop, implement, and maintain CEPA/TSCA programs, procedures, and training for businesses.
  • Applying your educational experience and skills in chemistry in the preparation and submission of new substance notifications as you collaborate with regional/global business and technical management to prepare and submit North American notifications, serving as the technical contact with government agencies.
  • Implementing hazard mediation and influencing skills to mitigate business risks due agency risk management controls on BASF products and substances.
  • Offering strategic advice and actions to minimize supply disruptions, result in cost savings, and increase contribution margins for BASF.

 

If you have…

 

  • A bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Chemistry. A strong science and chemistry background will directly support your chemical management regulatory responsibilities.
  •  5+ years of experience in product regulations, demonstrating expertise in this field.
  • Knowledge and experience with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, including TSCA and/or Environment Climate Change Canada and Health Canada regulations, including CEPA.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Experience in translating complex process and chemical information into language appropriate for the respective diverse BASF North America community and government agencies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders, along with experience in ERP and/or SAP Software Systems, and the ability to manage potential issues and opportunities through strong entrepreneurial drive, analytical thinking and Influencing skills.
