Job Description

About the Position:

Things+Time is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Workplace Accessibility Support Worker to provide tailored support to our two team leads. The support worker will conduct weekly meetings with team leads to address their specific needs such as developing workflows, prioritizing tasks, and support with mild memory loss.

The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and experienced in supporting individuals with ADHD and memory loss. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in fostering accessible and inclusive work environments. About T+T

Things+Time (T+T) is a digital archiving platform and educational initiative using 3D scanning technology to preserve objects, spaces, and stories at risk of being lost due to socioeconomic inequities. Founded in July 2021 with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, T+T empowers communities to create their own digital archives while championing anti-racist, anti-colonial, and accessible practices.

Company Culture:

  • We are a small, young organization (2 years old) focused on archiving and curating.
  • Our team is diverse (7-8 members) and rooted in queer, neurodivergent, and disability communities.

Current Activities:

  • Expanding the team with new hires.
  • Developing the web platform and planning user research.
  • Finalizing internal documents (HR manual, onboarding processes, etc.).
  • Advancing incorporation this year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly meetings with the two team leads to provide personalized access support related to ADHD and memory loss ; adjust meetings to reflect evolving needs.
    • Help adapt workflows and processes to accommodate mental health needs, fostering a supportive and sustainable working environment.
    • Work with the team leads’ unique learning styles and accommodation needs to develop a tailored, long-term sustainability plan for their work processes.
    • Support team leads navigating memory loss by implementing effective strategies and tools.
  • Support project management, including assisting with:
    • Prioritizing tasks.
    • Identifying where what responsibilities can be delegated.
    • Planning weekly work schedules.
    • Paperwork and email management, ensuring timely responses and proper documentation
    • Supporting the maintenance of spreadsheets, schedules, and other organizational tools
  • Collaborate with team leads to identify and address sensory processing needs by:
    • Incorporating regular weekly check-ins to uncover potential sensory processing challenges.
    • Researching and recommending sensory-supportive equipment or tools.
    • Proposing solutions and strategies to improve sensory accessibility.
  • Manage own schedules independently, including organizing check-in meetings, tracking follow-ups, and documenting notes/action items.
  • Provide support for communication challenges associated with ADHD/Autism by:
    • Facilitating clear and consistent communication from team leads to the rest of the team.
    • Checking in on the use of organizational tools and addressing barriers to their adoption.
    • Helping clarify team needs for updates and ensuring critical information is shared.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience working with individuals managing ADHD and memory loss.
    • Familiarity with tools and approaches to accommodate diverse access needs.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Notion
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data organization.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Empathy, patience, and adaptability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
    • Self-directed and proactive, able to take initiative and manage tasks independently.

Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Experience in administrative arts or management positions.
  • Background in supporting teams of people with varying abilities and access needs.
  • Familiarity with accessibility frameworks and inclusive practices.
  • Lived or professional experience engaging with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, including understanding their diverse needs and fostering inclusive environments.
  • Proficiency in French
