Ontario, ON 

We are looking for a Horticulture Sales Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Ontario.

Located in Eastern Canada and reporting to the the Regional Sales Manager, the Horticulture Sales Manager leads an AgSolutions Sales Team that works closely with our retail partners and growers to provide best in class service and agronomic advice. The Horticulture Sales Manager will also work with our marketing teams to support product launches and field tours while providing accurate market intelligence. This is accomplished through a proven track record of strong leadership, team development and a desire to continually grow the business in your market.

As a Horticulture Sales Manager, you create chemistry by…

  • Developing, coaching and leading a team of Horticulture Representatives who will support customer success and innovation in agriculture at the field level.
  • Using your leadership, people development and superior customer service skills to expand the company’s market share within Ontario.
  • Training, coaching and monitoring the performance of all staff to ensure maximum performance and achievement of sales and market share objectives. Additionally, identifying, screening and hiring top quality Horticulture Retails Representatives.
  • Gathering and communicating to appropriate staff market intelligence and competitive activities within the region to maximize opportunities and pre-empt threats to brand performance.
  • Cascading goals/objectives, supporting each individual’s development plan, and conducting performance reviews with staff as part of performance and incentive measurement, fostering a positive team environment that aligns with business and corporate initiatives.
  • Driving as well as flying to accounts, to meet with representatives, and customers as required.

If you have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Business, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in agriculture, working in sales, marketing, agronomy  supporting growers and retailers or relevant experience. Must have experience working within sales in a customer facing capacity.
  • Experience selling to growers in Western or Eastern Canada and the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead and coach a group of motivated and passionate sales staff. Managerial Experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of crop development and the use of products to enhance production.
  • A proven track record and desire to drive business for customer, corporate and personal success. Self-directed, motivated and have a desire to win while developing the business.
