As opportunity exists in NAIT’s Marketing and Communications department for a Web Designer to be part of NAIT’s web team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Web Development this position is responsible for the visual identity, creation, planning and ongoing development of NAIT’s web presence. This role will work closely with various Marketing and Communications personnel to ensure NAIT’s web presence is used as an effective and dynamic communication tool.
Perform day-to-day maintenance and update the content for NAIT’s web presence.
Coordinate graphic and media production with developers/designers/multimedia specialists.
Produce graphics as required.
Deliver results through the creation of leading edge design and interactive components resulting in engaging web solutions for internal customers.
Research and recommend new and emerging web technologies for use on our website.
Provide general technical support to members of the Web Team.
Test pages for cross-platform compatibility and display.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who as the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. The incumbent will demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and be a strong team player.
Related Post-secondary Diploma (2 year) or degree in visual arts or web graphic design.
Working knowledge of design principles and an understanding of user experience design.
Knowledge of emerging online-base communication tools.
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as base knowledge of front-end web development languages (HTML, CSS, JS).
Considerable experience in the field of multimedia
Equivalencies may be considered
Remuneration: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
