When you’re passionate about what you do and where you work, the rest comes easy. That’s the culture at Central 1 Credit Union, and that’s precisely what we’re looking for from you. Supporting nearly 150 member credit unions across British Columbia and Ontario, we’re the backbone of the credit union system in both provinces – taking care of everything from online services and product development, to payment processing, trade association services and more.
Our team of over 600 employees represent some of the most innovative, passionate individuals you’ll ever meet; people who honestly care about the organization, its members and each other. In other words, people who love what they do.
Our award-winning product management team is responsible for designing and managing financial technology (fintech) digital banking and payments solutions used by credit unions nationwide. As a Senior Business Analyst you will be directly engaged in the end-to-end design and delivery of innovative fintech solutions. You will be continuously challenged by demonstrating initiative and creativity, facilitating complex cross-functional work streams and delivering market-leading solutions to our members. You will be expected to leverage your proven track record in product and project management, and your financial services expertise to deliver innovative products in a collaborative, complex and fast moving environment.
You'll be primarily accountable for:
Consulting with clients and internal stakeholders to identify and assess market needs, opportunities and risks in order to meet business objectives.
Conducting research and competitive industry analysis, and preparing business cases to support the development of new products.
Designing new product offerings through all stages of the product and project life cycle.
Facilitating client-facing, enterprise-wide implementation and delivery of new products.
Monitoring the effectiveness of new products to enable continuous improvement.
Working closely with agile development teams to provide business requirements, user stories and product guidance.
Establishing and sharing subject matter expertise in an assigned product line.
The ideal candidate will have product management, project management or business analysis experience in the financial services industry. Experienced lenders in credit unions or banks interested in transition to a product management related role will be considered as well. We are ideally looking for:
4-6 years of related experience in product and project management in financial services, credit unions or banks.
Experience working in a complex product development environment, preferably with Agile software methodology.
Business acumen, problem solving and decision making skills to identify, assess and resolve challenges and issues.
Ability to creatively and effectively assess risks and opportunities.
Research and analytical skills to assess complex industry trends and competitive landscape.
People leadership skills to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-function environment and with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or computer science.
As much as we believe in working hard, we also believe in personal growth and taking time for ourselves. Accordingly, our total rewards philosophy amounts to one of the best compensation and benefits packages in the industry – from performance-based incentives and extended benefits, to training and education reimbursements and ample vacation time.
Central 1 is committed to diversity and inclusion. If you have a request for a disability-related accommodation, we will work with you to meet your needs.
