Senior Business Analyst
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing a superior level of service delivery as the primary contact between internal business units and information technology stakeholders. Working on complex cross functional projects, the Senior Business Analyst manages IT projects, performs comprehensive systems analysis to determine current and future business requirements and identify opportunities. The Senior Business Analyst reports to the Manager, Business Analysis.
Providing leadership and management on key IT development and implementation projects in part by creating the project charter, developing and maintaining the project plan, managing stakeholders, and managing project communications;
Eliciting business requirements of internal customers through analysis, research, documentation and portfolio management;
Initiating the problem solving process with business units by using root cause analysis and other problem solving techniques, and by proactively developing alternatives or potential solutions;
Acting as liaison between Westminster Savings and third party vendors for RFPs, development requests, and the implementation of solutions;
Educating and training business users to implement best practices and leverage technology;
Participating in the development and sustainment of WSCU project management, requirements management, and business process innovation (LEAN) frameworks;
Facilitating business process innovation (LEAN) value stream map sessions and plan-do-check-act (PDCA) sessions with process owners to assist the organization in adding value to business processes that impact our customers, and in creating efficiencies and reducing wastes for internal employees that use the processes;
Providing thought leadership and innovation in IT strategic planning;
Providing mentorship and coaching to Business Analysts.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of seven years’ experience in a similar role in combination with post-secondary education in a related discipline. The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®) designation is an asset. Must haves capabilities including: the ability to think critically, superior interpersonal, listening, conflict management and communication skills supported by a logical thought process, and a proven understanding of the project management lifecycle, requirements management lifecycle, and Lean methodology.
This position will be Monday to Friday and located at our new Central City Corporate Centre in Surrey.
