Senior Analyst, Accounting & Reporting (Term Position to August 31, 2019)
We are seeking an innovative and collaborative finance professional to join our Accounting and Reporting team. The successful candidate will provide expertise and leadership in the preparation and delivery of financial and regulatory reporting for SaskCentral and its clients.
In this position you will lead the external financial reporting function for SaskCentral and the accounting services for our external clients. You will be proficient in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements as well as required tax and regulatory reporting. You will co-ordinate and provide information for the annual external audit process and various internal audits. You will understand the proposed changes to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on our reporting methodologies and financial statements. You will also provide subject matter expertise on technical projects for SaskCentral. An important part of this role will be to provide leadership to the team by motivating and engaging employees, setting performance standards, coaching and providing feedback.
You will have a degree in Business Administration/Commerce supplemented by a professional accounting designation (CPA) and three years of experience in a financial accounting environment. You will have comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting and reporting principles, specifically IFRS as well as tax and regulatory requirements. You will also have solid problem solving skills, advanced research and analytical skills complemented with strong communication skills. Experience with Oracle software, the credit union system and/or financial services sector would be an asset.
