The Facilities Department of MacEwan University has a challenging opportunity for a qualified, energetic, results-oriented individual to manage campuses’ Facilities Operations.

The Manager of Facilities Operations is responsible for delivering safe, regulatory compliant, efficient and effective day-to-day building services across the City Centre Campus and Alberta College Campus. The services include custodial, receiving and material handling, room and event setup, grounds, keys and the Facilities Support Centre. Facilities Operations includes approximately 90 in-house staff and a variety of contracted services.

The Manager of Facilities Operation reports to the Senior Manager of Facilities Operations. This position contributes to the effective use of resources and cost and quality control processes. The manager utilizes a risk-based approach for all operational processes and is a major contributor to the Quality Management Plan, ISO 9001:2008.

This position ensures that Operations’ overall human resource needs are met through effective management and coordination of the recruitment, supervision, performance evaluation, training & development, performance management processes. The Manager ensures staff compliance with University policies, the collective agreement and code of conduct. The Manager is a key contributor to the development and controlling of a $5 million budget and provides regular and reliable budget forecasts.

The ideal candidate will combine a minimum of five years applicable experience in a large, diverse, multi-function environment that accommodates both building occupants and serves the general public and community with an applicable baccalaureate degree or technical diploma.
