Government of Canada wraps up consultations on how to make a more accessible Canada for people with disabilities
Over the past five months, the Government of Canada has held public sessions across Canada as part of a consultation process to inform planned federal accessibility legislation. The Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities, is leading discussions on the barriers to accessibility that Canadians face in their daily lives.
Backgrounder: Canada and Quebec support 5 projects to improve water and wastewater systems across the Estrie region
Under this new federal funding program, the governments of Canada and Quebec are investing $5,332,059 million in 5 water and wastewater projects to ensure residents of the Estrie region have access to clean and reliable water sources. Funding for these projects was made possible by the signing of the bilateral agreement on July 5, 2016. The municipalities will provide the remainder of the funding.
Five projects will improve water and sewage systems across Estrie thanks to the Clean Water and Waste Water fund
The governments of Canada and Quebec are safeguarding public health and helping protect the province's waterways by investing in projects to ensure that water and wastewater systems in the province are up to date and efficient and meet communities' increasing capacity needs. These investments will also help create jobs and grow the economy.
